Anxiety, depression and more complicated mental health challenges will impact the lives of 25% of our country in any given year. Suicide is on the rise. Our families, friends and neighbors are suffering. It is critical to move this issue up the ladder of importance.
From 2017 - 2019 there have been 58 suicides within the City of Olathe. Had enough? It's not enough to talk about mental health. It's time to get to work.
Career politicians keep giving in to the special interests, ignoring what matters to our families and leaving us to pick up the tab. Enough is enough. Our families and small businesses deserve a State Senator who will answer to us - instead of insurance companies, big banks and corporate donors. You can count on me to listen to you, answer to you and put our families first - every time.
We must civilize our conversations without hurling insults, spewing invective and creating an "us versus them" mentality. We are all neighbors. We are all Kansans. We can disagree without being disagreeable.
Additionally, I will always be a voice for transparency in the way our state government does business. We've made progress. We can go further.
Chris believes life begins at conception. Yet it seems that for all the effort, energy, time and discourse we devote the protecting the unborn, we often forget the plight of those born with disabilities. All children are gifts from God, and all children born and unborn, deserve our care, love and compassion.
Being raised in Kansas was a blessing for Chris. Church, Boy Scouts, visiting grandma and grandpa on the weekends and enjoying those large country suppers and family gatherings. The values and ethics taught as a boy resonate as a man.

Chris supports the 2nd Amendment as well as responsible gun ownership.
